about 19 hours ago, the earthquake struck japan. that set things into motion and before you knew it, that tsunami was hurdling its way across the pacific and then we began to see some of the buoys affected. we saw some waves about 6 feet in maui. by it continued on its track. we watched it and it made its way onshore, focusing, for the most part, in towards the santa cruz area. now, there's a special reason why that happened. we saw some funneling of that energy and all of that energy surging across the pacific, in some casings, in open water, can go as fast as 600 miles an hour. that's simply hauling across the pacific. you get all of that energy from the coastline, slamming up, being a -- being affected by the topography of the bottom of the coastline and as a results we had the surge right up in the harbor. the harbor is -- you get surges like this right through the area. a lot of folks watched this and they evacuated from their holes, which is fantastic -- homes, which is fantastic, there were waves that came along shore there.
